ABOUT Me
I’m Chelsea — the person behind Ms. Agent Ottawa, but also someone with a life full of curiosities, joys, and unexpected intersections.
In my day-to-day professional life, I help run my family’s 56-year-old land surveying business, Jepson Surveying. Much of that work revolves around boundaries — understanding them, marking them, restoring them, and helping people gain clarity about the land they stand on. It’s careful, technical work that has taught me how deeply boundaries shape our lives, both literally and figuratively.
Outside of surveying, I’ve always been pulled toward the other side of boundaries - the movement across them, the cultural crossings, the human stories that begin when someone steps from one place to another. That’s where Agent Ottawa comes in, and where my love of travel, connection, and global curiosity really comes alive.
But at my core, I’m someone who delights in the world. I’m happiest on a bike tour with my husband, rolling through landscapes, noticing textures, light, and the small details that make each place feel alive. I love maps, architecture, incense, spices, and the feeling of discovering how cultures express themselves.
I’ve always been drawn to thresholds — both the physical ones and the symbolic ones. Growing up near the Peace Arch, I didn’t realize at the time that my own family had spent generations working at that very border. It seems my life has always lived somewhere between place and passage.
My work as Ms. Agent Ottawa is one expression of that fascination, but it isn’t all of me.
I’m also a dancer, artist, designer, maker, traveler, gardener, and someone who believes that both land and life are richer when approached with care, curiosity, presence, and generosity !
